Alpha Olefin is monoolefine whose double bond on the top of molecular, its molecular formula is R-CH=CH2, R is alkyl. But if R is linear alkyl, it will be called linear alpha olefin(LAO).

It is used as the copolymerized monomer of polyolefin(HDPE and LLDPE mainly use C4,C6,C8). It also can be used for producing plastic and polyolefin, which cover more than half of its total consumption; it also can be used for producing surfactant synthetic intermediate, branched chain alkyl benzene, long chain ADMA, alpha olefin sulfonate, AOS(C14~18 alpha alkenyl sulphonate) diphenyl ether disulfonic acid ester, plasticizer with alcohol, synthetic oil, petroleum additive, oilfield chemical, sulfosalt derivatives or oxethyl derivatives that is also called the detergent’s oxo alcohols.

It also can be widely used for producing synthetic acid, alkenyl succinic aldehyde, epoxide, mercaptan, polybutylene-1, pentanol, the wax with high molecular weight,    metal working fluid and other relative products, Alkyl mercaptan, flavors and fragrances, organosilicon, the component of drilling,emulsifier, leather treatment, lubrication oil additives, antirust additive, textile finishing agent, paper used chemical etc.
